DIVERSE PERFORMANCE SYSTEMS
Marine technology companies Diverse Yachts and C-Designs are to merge.
The two companies have been working closely together for several years on yacht racing technology with the new organisation – Diverse Performance Systems – aimed at providing a better service to the global high-performance yacht racing and superyacht industry.
“The merger means our clients will be able to take advantage of a one stop shop for the design, installation and optimisation of all on-board systems,” said C-Designs owner and founder Nick McGarry who will lead the new company as MD. “The two companies have worked closely in the past but now we can provide our clients with a single point of contact for sales, design, project management and ongoing support.”
Packages
He added: “Diverse Performance Systems can now provide owners and builders with fully-integrated systems packages which combine all the yacht’s control, monitoring and sailing instruments into efficient centralised systems.”
Graham Lewis of C-Designs will become technical director. Diverse Yachts director and co-founder Lou Varney will step back from the day to day running of the business after more than 30 years at the helm.
New company
He will instead take on a consultancy role to support the new company and will also continue to lead composite manufacturer Tropical Engineering.
Diverse Yachts supplies custom marine electronics, technical hardware and load cells, while C-Designs designs, manufactures and integrates yacht hydraulics, electrics and mechanical and electronic control systems.
Diverse Performance Systems will be based at Hamble-le-Rice.
